Who Are We?

As of 1997, a small group of quilters had been meeting on the west side of the Twin Cities in Minnesota for a number of years. There had been no larger guild to serve the west and northwest regions of the Twin Cities, so these women felt it was about time there was. The Plymouth City Hall was engaged as the first meeting location and the word went out. The first meeting was held in August of 1997, and turn-out surpassed all expectations.

Attendance and membership continued to grow, until now we have over two hundred members. We've outgrown three meeting places. We've begun traditions of annual events, including a New Year's resolution quilt.

What Do We Do?

Community service is a long-standing part of the quilting tradition in America. Our guild currently concentrates on making lap quilts for people in wheelchairs and in nursing homes. Quilts collected at meetings during the year are distributed in the Wayzata and Plymouth area.

Almost since the beginning of the guild, we have had a Block of the Month exchange. As the months pass, the blocks will be shared. If any of us winners ever finish quilts using the blocks, photos of the quilts will be shown also.
